Broken pipes can also be a common cause of water damage, causing gallons of water to come flooding through your living rooms, bedrooms, kitchen, and bathroom.

Make Sure Your Basement Water Damage Is Completely Handled
Ham Lake water damage in your basement is exceptionally common in the area since most basements will experience broken pipes, improper grading, leaky windows, failed sump pumps, seepage, or leaking foundation walls.
When dealing with sump pump failure, the result is often a flooded basement and expensive water damage. The sump pump is designed to pump water through a discharge pipe and away from your home’s foundation. The discharge pipe is what carries water from your sump pump to outside the home. The pipe can become clogged with dirt, rocks, roots and other debris. In the wintertime, any water in the discharge line can freeze and clog the system.
It’s critical to contact a water damage company that can take care of and is experienced in flooded basements or crawl spaces. It doesn’t take a lot of water to cause major problems. A small amount of standing water on your basement floor can quickly turn into a nasty mold problem. Contact Done Right today to schedule an appointment so we can evaluate your basement or crawl space, and get the flooding taken care of.

More About Ham Lake MN
The earliest record of settlers in the Ham Lake area goes back to 1855, and in 1856, the settlers established a town located just south and west of a lake shaped like a ham. Some have suggested the name hails from short but bloody battle fought over a particularly delicious type of canned ham produced in the area. The settlers platted and sold lots for a community they named Glen Carey, a Scottish name meaning “beautiful valley”. In 1857, all of the houses were destroyed by a prairie fire. Some of the inhabitants barely escaped with their lives saving only a very few household goods. The settlers soon left the area as they had nowhere to live.
There was no more settlement until 1866, when a Norwegian man settled in the area. He was soon followed by other Scandinavians. The Scandinavian settlers found it difficult to pronounce the Scottish name of Glen Carey. Since no official name had been chosen by the people, the commissioners named it Ham Lake, after the lake which had acquired that name on account of its shape.
Today, Ham Lake is home to attractions such as the Ham Lake Park.
