Your nose.  That lovely awkward thingy that is often very distinguishable from one person to another.  Oddly enough it is also one of the most powerful tools in detecting a healthy environment.

Weather can cause problems in our home like flooding or fires which lead to distinct odors like mold or smoke.  Chemicals or gases can leak or it could just be good old reliable Fido.  Smells in your home can be caused by many things and most are detectable by your sense of smell.

So, what do we do about these unwelcome scents?  Most often we think of clean air if there is a natural disaster like a broken sewage pipe, leaking gas, fire, or flooding.  These are the most common uses for an air scrubber.  Other uses can be if you are remodeling your home.  Sheetrock dust is fine.  When they are sanding the mudded joints can be terrible for breathing.  Painting your home or refinishing hardwood floors can also lead to strong fumes.  All of these can settle into furniture and carpets.  Renting an air scrubber can mean cleaner air for you and your family while your project is being completed and after the construction crews have been long gone.
